Bud burst, shoot thinning & frost fighting
|
|
Bud burst was visible in the vineyard early october and now we have started shoot thinning & bud rubbing. Shoots are growing quickly by the day here as the spring temperatures warm up and with the frost fighting & rain we've had recently.

Pruning complete
|

As of yesterday the pruning for another season is complete! Looking very tidy now in the vineyard, now to look forward to the weather warming up for spring in the coming weeks & on to bud burst!

Back from North Island trip, pruning continues in the snow!
|
|
Have now returned back to Alexandra from a 2 week North Island trip, drove the length of the island from Auckland through Hamilton, Taupo, Palmerston North & finished up in Wellington. You can now find Weaver Estate Wines in select wine stores throughout the North Island.
Now back to the pruning, getting well through it, very low snow all around today which makes it a beautiful place to be outside in the vines (albeit pretty chilly)!

Pruning is now underway, seems very early this year as it still isn't the start of winter until next week!!! Maybe we can get it finished before the real cold arrives

Clyde Annual Wine & Food Festival 2011

A huge thank you to all those who came along and supported us and all the other local wine producers from the Alexandra Basin this easter for the 10th Annual Clyde Wine & Food Festival. It was a huge success and we hope to see many of you there again next year!!

Tasting room coming soon

We are currently in the process of setting up a cellar door tasting room on site at Weaver Estate Wines vineyard, 381 Alexandra-Clyde Road (SH8), Alexandra, Central Otago. We hope to be open in the coming months by September 2011. We will update the site as soon as we have more details.
